Telemedicine Q & A

What is telemedicine?

Telemedicine provides convenient access to medical care using secure online technology. You can talk to your health care provider without visiting their office while receiving high-quality diagnosis and treatment.

You can use HAPI Medical Center’s telemedicine services for anything that doesn’t require an in-person visit. Telemedicine is also perfect for people with busy lives who find getting time away from work or family responsibilities difficult. You can even access your provider if you travel away from home.

In addition, telemedicine visits save time and money. You don’t have to put gas in your car or pay for public transport, so there’s less hassle involved than an in-person visit. Furthermore, people with low immunity don’t have to risk picking up infections on their trip to the office.

What services can I access through telemedicine?

You can use HAPI Medical Center’s telemedicine services for numerous purposes, including:

  • Sick visits
  • Chronic disease management
  • Reviewing test results
  • Mental health counseling
  • Weight loss support
  • Medication management
  • Nutrition counseling
  • Quitting smoking

If you have any concerns about your health, a telemedicine appointment is a perfect way to put your mind at rest. Your provider may need to see you in person, depending on what’s wrong, but an initial consultation online prevents you from wasting time on an unnecessary in-person visit.

How do I access telemedicine?

When it’s time for your appointment, you log in to the telemedicine platform from your PC, tablet, or smartphone and go to the virtual waiting room. When your provider’s ready, they enter the chat. You can describe the reason for the appointment and if you have any visible symptoms, show your provider using your device’s camera.

If they can diagnose your condition remotely, your provider advises you on managing the problem and sends you an electronic prescription for any medication you require. Your provider will let you know if you need to undergo diagnostic imaging procedures like X-rays or have a blood test.

If, for any reason, it’s not possible to help without seeing you in person, your provider asks you to make a regular in-person appointment.

To arrange a telemedicine appointment, simply call HAPI Medical Center’s office or request an appointment online.
